News Insurance Distribution Directive on book 24/01/2019
Miguel Duarte Santos, GPA Managing Associate, launched recently the book "Introductory Notes on the Insurance Distribution Directive (‘IDD’) - essential impacts on insurance activity and insurance mediation", a work updated according to Law no. 7/2019 of January 16th, 2019, and with the new Legal Framework on Insurance and Reinsurance Distribution.
The new legal framework is relevant for insurance companies and intermediaries operating in Portugal, and the most important aspects of the IDD transposition are presented in this book, as well as other innovations introduced by the national lawmaker which did not result from IDD transposition.
This work is born from the experience of the Financial Regulation / Compliance Department in the follow-up provided to insurance companies and intermediaries in the implementation of the new distribution regime.
These notes are a practical and easy-to-use resource on key changes to insurance products and insurance distribution activities. Thus, it is not a work exclusively for lawyers, but rather to allow readers of any area of training or professional practice to have a first approach to the impact of the insurance distribution in their activities.
