News Launch of “Contributos para a História dos Seguros em Portugal“ and “O Tratado de Seguros” 12/02/2024

Francisco Rodrigues Rocha is the author of “Contributos para a História dos Seguros em Portugal” (Contributions to the History of the Insurances in Portugal), published by ASF (the Portuguese Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority) and presented to the public on 8 February in the Auditorium of this Supervisory Authority, together with the book “O Tratado de Seguros” de Pedro de Santarém. Critical edition with introductory studies, re-edited on the basis of the manuscript from the Vatican Library, dated 1488, which was co-ordinated by the GPA Law Firm Partner, who also contributed with two introductory studies.

As the ASF emphasises, these works represent an important contribution to the promotion of knowledge about the insurance business and its historical context, as well as to the dissemination of a work of high symbolic value, which, since Pedro de Santarém is truly an international jurist, is part of the national and European intangible cultural heritage.
