Decree-Law no. 12/2021, of 9 February, ensures the implementation in the Portuguese jurisdiction of Regulation (EU) no. 910/2014, on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market .

This regime aims to increase the confidence and security of online transactions, encouraging their use not only by citizens, but also by economic operators and the Tax Administration.
