News Published ASAE Regulations on General and Specific Duties to Prevent and Combat Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing 18/02/2022

On February 17, the Regulation on General and Specific Duties for Preventing and Combating Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism (Notice 3240/2022) of the Food and Economic Security Authority (“ASAE”) was published. With the entry into force of this regulation, ASAE Regulation 314/2018, of 25 May, is revoked.

ASAE is responsible for verifying compliance with the duties incumbent on non-financial entities, which are not subject to the supervision of another specific sectoral authority. In all that is not provided for in the Regulation, the provisions of Law 83/2017, of August 18, in its current wording, will be observed. This regulation enters into force on the 1st working day of the month following its publication.
